As Interim Principal, my role is clear: to ensure that Salem remains steadfast in its mission to provide a Christ-centered education where every child is known, challenged, and supported. This is not simply a statement we print on brochures—it is a commitment we live out every single day through our CARES framework: Christ-Centered Foundation, Academics That Prepare Students, Relationships Where Every Child Is Known, Every Student Belongs, and Strong Partnerships with Parents.
CARES is more than a model. It is how we teach, how we lead, and how we build community. It shapes the way our teachers plan instruction, the way we respond when a student struggles, and the way we communicate with families. You will see it in our classrooms, hear it in our chapel services, and feel it when you walk through our building. Our commitment is that your investment in a Salem education—both financial and personal—is fully realized in the growth of your child academically, spiritually, and socially.
I have the privilege of serving Salem during an exciting season of growth and transition. Our building expansion reflects our confidence in God’s provision and our commitment to serving more families in the years ahead. As we prepare to welcome a full-time, dedicated PreK-8 principal who will lead Salem into its next chapter, my focus remains on maintaining the strong foundation that has made this school a place where children thrive and families feel genuinely partnered with.
As both a pastor and a parent who has seen my own children grow through Salem and go on to West Lutheran High School, I understand what you are looking for in a school. You want a place where your child is safe, known, and challenged. You want teachers who care deeply about more than just test scores. You want a community that shares your values and a school that will partner with you in raising children who are confident in their faith and prepared for the world ahead. That is exactly what Salem offers.
Our teachers do not merely instruct—they invest. They know their students by name, by personality, by need. They intervene early when a child struggles and celebrate genuinely when a child succeeds. They model grace and truth in how they teach, correct, and lead. This is the kind of education that shapes a life, not just a transcript.
If you are exploring Salem, I encourage you to schedule a tour. See our classrooms in action. Meet our teachers. Ask hard questions. Pay attention to how you feel when you walk through the building. A school is more than its curriculum or its facilities—it is the people, the culture, and the commitment to do what is best for every child, every day.
We are not perfect, but we are present. We are not the largest school, but we are deeply intentional. And we are not just educating students—we are partnering with families to raise the next generation of faithful, capable, grounded disciples of Jesus Christ.
Thank you for considering Salem Lutheran School. I look forward to meeting you.
