Mrs. Brandel

3rd and 4th Grade

I am the 3rd and 4th grade teacher at Salem Lutheran School. I have been teaching since 2003, and my husband and I have been members of Salem since 2008. I have been teaching at Salem since 2010, with experience in grades K–4.

Ever since I was young, I was interested in families and children. I grew up seeing the true value of Christian education and how purposeful it is to teach in a Christian setting. My favorite part of teaching is hearing my students’ beautiful voices when singing Christian songs and hymns.

I graduated with an Elementary Education degree from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN, and then received my Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. My teaching experience includes St. John’s Lutheran School and Pilgrim Lutheran School, both in Minneapolis, as well as Ascension Lutheran School in Plymouth. I have been a church organist since 2001 and have also taught piano lessons.

My husband and I have two children and enjoy lake time up north in the summer. I also enjoy gardening and going for jogs.
